This show slays me left and right.
This is the CW’s newest hit. If it was a song I’d call it a banger. The CW is on top of the freaking game; I think they’ve really hit their stride since they changed over from the WB and UPN (Dawson’s Creek, 7th Heaven, Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Charmed, America’s Next Top Model, Gilmore Girls, Veronica Mars, Girlfriends, and One Tree Hill just to name a few). I loved Gossip Girl but that show was once a week; I now tune in to The CW two times a week. At one point it was four but I fell behind on Arrow and stopped watching Reign.
Riverdale is riveting. Cole Sprouse has taken up acting again post-college and his skills have really improved.
This week was about finding out if FB killed Jason Blossom, the complexity of navigating friendship between Archie and Veronica since they slept together, and the dark lies in Betty’s and Jughead’s lives.
Betty’s mom invites Jughead and FB to dinner and claims it to be for innocent reasons; this doesn’t sit right with Betty so she invites someone else to dinner to ensure that Alice Cooper is on her best behavior.
Meanwhile Jughead is pretty psyched about dinner; he sees it as a step forward in his relationship with the girl he loves.
Archie is being Archie about Veronica while she’s thinking about how her sleeping with Archie will affect Betty, even though Betty is dating Jughead; Veronica ultimately thinks that while she regrets nothing and it was fun, it was just sex and that doesn’t mean they should be in a relationship with each other. That doesn’t stop Archie from thinking that sexy times with Veronica may still be ahead.
Now, Alice had enlisted Veronica to search FB’s trailer while FB and Jughead were at dinner so Veronica convinced Archie to go with her.
Back at the beginning of the episode, FB has cleaned his apartment and is trying to bridge the gap between him and Jughead. I was under the impression that FB was trying to get rid of any evidence he may have had on him linking himself to the murder of Jason Blossom; Jason’s Letterman jacket for example.
Back to the searching of FB’s trailer; Archie and Veronica search the trailer before they have to rush off to the Homecoming dance. They search everywhere and find nothing. With no evidence linking FB to anything related to Jason, Archie and Veronica run off to the dance only to find out at the dance that FB has been arrested, by Kevin’s dad, for the murder of Jason Blossom. Reason? The murder weapon was found in his trailer.
Only, Archie and Veronica did not see the case with the murder weapon in the closet.
Which means someone put it there after Archie and Veronica left.
Which means someone was watching Archie and Veronica.
Which means THE KILLER was watching Archie and Veronica.
Ohhhhh, the plot thickens.
Next week we find out who did it. My bets are on Jason’s dad, Veronica’s dad, or Alice Cooper.
